OCA is committed to networking with construction and architecture programs at universities and community colleges across the state. The Raleigh Office recently hosted members of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS | NCSU) from NC State’s College of Design at a firm tour. The students stopped by on the evening of March 20th for a quick tour of the new Raleigh office where Matthew and Shawna summarized current projects, then broke out snacks and students were given a chance to ask burning questions about our profession. The conversation drifted over many issues such as: work/life balance, office culture, possible ways to determine if a firm is a good fit, and what it is like to work in Raleigh versus other cities. It was an exciting evening and students were eager to schedule a return visit in the fall when classes resume. Our Raleigh OCA team was delighted to aid this future generation of architects’ in sorting through the issues which will impact their careers.
