The Rocky Mount Sports Complex includes a 1,970 SF concession facility featuring a work area, two meeting rooms, restrooms, and large covered porches. The facility serves the surrounding athletic complex, which includes Little League baseball fields, adult baseball and softball fields, and soccer fields. The project was partially funded through a Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF) grant and was completed in 2006.
Oakley Collier Architects later designed an additional 1,248 SF facility featuring concessions, a kitchen, and restrooms with exterior access. The complex was developed on a former brownfield site within a flood-prone area. As part of the site preparation, impacted soils were abated and the building was elevated eight feet while maintaining accessibility.
Additional designs for the complex have included a covered picnic area and offices for City of Rocky Mount Parks and Recreation staff.
