Pamlico County Space Planning & Feasibility Study

In 2023, Oakley Collier Architects developed a Space Planning & Feasibility Study for Pamlico County to evaluate the Courthouse, Sheriff’s Office as it relates to court functions, County Administration, Health Department, Public Services, and Senior Services.

The study evaluated nine buildings housing 20 departments and included facility walkthroughs, interviews with key staff, facility conditions assessments, and an analysis of space utilization. Each department was evaluated based on staffing, location, adjacencies, workflow, storage and meeting space needs, security requirements, space deficiencies, and projected future growth.

The resulting study provided two recommended options with estimated costs, preliminary programming and site plans, and construction phasing strategies to help guide the County’s future facility planning.

The study was completed in 2023.
