Northampton County Courthouse Facility
Northampton County, NC
Civic + Municipal
Oakley Collier Architects conducted space needs and facility conditions assessments for Northampton County Judicial Services prior to providing design services for the new 27,300 SF courthouse. The facility replaces the historic courthouse in the county seat and was designed to accommodate future expansion and the potential relocation of additional county departments.
The first floor houses the District Attorney’s Office, Clerk of Court and associated spaces, hearing room, Custody and Juvenile Services, Probation Office, large multipurpose meeting room, sally port, and break room. The second floor includes Superior and District Courtrooms with associated spaces, the Resident Judge’s Chambers, holding cells with a secure conference room, and law library.
The courthouse was completed in 2024.
A new Northampton County Administration Building is currently under design and will be located adjacent to the new courthouse.
