Kure Beach Town Hall & Fire Department
Kure Beach, NC
Civic + Municipal
Oakley Collier Architects provided design services for the expansion of the existing Kure Beach Town Hall, renovation of the existing fire department for use by the police department, and construction of a new fire department on adjacent property. Due to the restrictive site, careful planning and creative solutions were required to improve site circulation and traffic flow.
The project was completed in two phases, beginning with a feasibility study and programming summary in 2016. The existing 15,128 SF Town Hall/Police Department received a 4,320 SF addition.
The new 9,214 SF fire department includes four apparatus bays, a training room, wellness and fitness room, dayroom, sleeping rooms, apparatus support areas, laundry and decontamination room, kitchen, offices, and storage. Site improvements also included additional parking and a new driveway serving the fire department.
