Frederick Douglass Elementary School

Wilson County Schools, NC

PreK-12 Education

Oakley Collier Architects was selected by Wilson County Schools to design the new Frederick Douglass Elementary School. The original school, constructed in 1939 during segregation, served Black students in elementary, middle, and high school grades. Today, the existing facility no longer meets the needs of the school’s growing population.

OCA is working closely with Wilson County Schools to develop a new facility that supports the district’s educational goals while remaining within budget. The design process emphasizes efficiency, functionality, and cost-effective solutions to create a modern learning environment that will serve students, staff, and the community for years to come.

The project is currently under design.
